Stuffed Peppers

lb ground beef
1 24oz can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 medium chopped onion
2 cups chopped cabbage
4 fresh basil leaves
1tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
½tsp oregano
4 whole green peppers

Begin by sauteeing chopped cabbage and diced onions in a pan on the stove until they are soft and almost see through. In a separate pan begin cooking the ground beef. Add to the ground beef the basil,salt,pepper and oregano. Once fully cooked combine the cabbage and onions. Mix in the diced tomatoes and can of tomato paste. Let simmer together for 10 minutes. Turn oven to 360 degrees. While the filling is cooking cut the tops of the green peppers off and remove the seeds. Set them in a sprayed 8×8 pan, close together. Remove filling from the heat and stuff the peppers until they are filled to the top. Place in oven for 45 minutes or until he green peppers are soft enough to stick a fork through.
